A Seaside Wedding In Nova Scotia
Wedding date: June 19, 2010
Guests: 80
Best moment: “My favourite moment was when our officiant, David, had one minute of silence to really take in everything around us. It was just after I walked down the aisle when he asked everyone to remain silent and listen and really think about what we were doing at the moment. He asked us to feel the ground, listen to the ocean, and feel the sunshine. I remember looking off into the sea and seeing a white sailboat in the distance. It was a beautiful moment that I will never forget and it really solidified the whole day for me,” says Jenna.
Favourite detail: “My absolute favourite wedding detail was our ‘guest book’. I searched for fabrics in shades of eggplant and celadon green to make table runners for the guest and serving tables. We had cream fabric set in embroidery rings on our guest tables with signs asking people to share stories or give well wishes. We had the table runners dry cleaned and then used them along with the signed fabric to make a quilt! Now we can truly feel the warmth of those memories and well wishes from underneath our beautiful wedding quilt,” says Jenna.
Wedding song: “On Fire” by Switchfoot. “When we first started dating we would listen to this album by Switchfoot non-stop and dance in our living room. The lyrics of this particular song are so beautiful and speak of a love that is so pure that I get teary eyed whenever I listen to it. It was a perfect song to explain how we feel,” explains Jenna.
