Getting ready
About the couple
Bride: Saffron Watts
Groom: David Evanoff
How they met: “We’ve worked together for about nine years. We quickly became friends and after about six years, our friendship turned to romance, and we began dating,” says Saffron.
Engagement story: “Dave had called me as I was leaving work to say he was going to his sister’s to help with a computer problem. So when I got home, I changed into my comfy flannel pjs and curled up on the couch to watch some TV and chat on the phone. Around 8:30pm Dave arrived home with a dozen red roses. I quickly got off the phone to see why Dave had brought home flowers. As I stood in the kitchen unwrapping and admiring the flowers, I saw out of the corner of my eye that Dave was kneeling down. I stopped fussing with the flowers and just looked at him and said, ‘What’s going on?’ just as he was pulling a small box out of his pocket,” explains Saffron. “He opened the box to show me the most beautiful engagement ring I had ever seen and asked me to marry him. The whole time, all I could seem to say was ‘What’s going on?’ and ‘What’s happening’ over and over. Dave put the ring on my finger and I gave him a big hug and he said, ‘You haven’t answered my question yet’ to which I replied ‘yes!’ We then spent the rest of the evening sharing our good news with our families and friends.”
