#922: Receiving your very first RSVP

You gotta have extra love for that one early bird guest who RSVP’s the minute they receive your invitation. It’s definitely awesome to get that first one in–either via e-mail/phone call/mail, because a) that means people are actually receiving your invitations and b) it means that wedding guest count is officially underway. How did you get people to RSVP? Through digital means or via snail mail?

I am a wedding planner and I notice my clients have some difficulties with getting RSVPs. What I do find work better than the traditional reply in the mail is the online replies, seen as most people are computer savvies.

We sent out traditional RSVP cards but also included our phone number and e-mail address as well. We figured the easier it was for people to RSVP the more likely they would be to do it! We did run into some trouble and confusion with our Facebook event page, as some guests thought that RSVP-ing to THAT was the official RSVP, and so they didn’t send in their card!

  • My fiance and I have not sent out invitations yet (still 8 months to go) but we plan on doing everything digitally. Wedding guests will RSVP on our wedding website.
