Sweet Deal for Ontario Brides

I just read that the HST (Ontario’s new harmonized tax) does NOT include wedding cakes! All the more reason to order a huger wedding cake or more confections for your reception, right? Currently, I’m loving Jessica Berard’s gorgeous cakes–an artistic cake designer who hails from Montreal. Each and every one of her creations are pretty and elegant. Here’s a sneak peak of some of her beautiful cakes.

It’s true that wedding cakes will not be subject to the HST, but the majority of goods and services will also be exempt. For more information on what’s taxed and what’s not, please visit: ontario.ca/taxchange or for the full list: http://www.rev.gov.on.ca/en/taxchange/pdf/taxable.pdf
