Carnations Have Feelings Too
Yesterday I had the oddest conversation with a florist. She had mentioned that, and I quote, “I would NEVER put a carnation in a wedding bouquet.” Immediately taken back, I thought to myself, hmm, now what’s wrong with carnations? Sure they’ve gotten a bad rap over the last few years and they’re not exactly my fave flower either, but I didn’t think they were THAT horrendous and NEVER is such a strong word. Well, hoping to prove her wrong, I made it my mission (I love challenges like these!) to find beautiful arrangements and inspiration filled with nothing but CARNATIONS! And, just as I imagined, I found some really amazing ideas. If you’re not a huge carnation fan, maybe these three finds will sway you over–and hopefully it will sway our little florist friend over too. Enjoy!

I told my mom how nice Carnations look when it’s a bouquet/arrangement of ALL carnarions..she looked at me like I was on glue! If the price is right, (which, I’m sure it will be) I may do all centerpieces ALL carnations. It’s a toss up between them and hydreangeas..
I use carnations all the time! They look so fluffy and feminine all together-make perfect flower girl pomander balls and ring bearer pillows. Put three together in a bouquet and they look like a peony at a fraction of the cost. They come in every colour and have a soft scent. They are making a huge comeback! I used them in a wrought iron tree, I made different sized carnation balls, and EVERYONE at the show loved them!! They were so surprised:))

I really like carnations! I’m hoping to use them somewhere in our wedding.
And as Carrie Bradshaw once said “I think Carnations are making a comeback.”
That’s so pretty! I agree – NEVER is too harsh a word. Maybe WB can make them IN again.. hehe!
Oh, I think carnations are lovely! I’m having some of them in my bouquet, they’re lovely and wintery in white :)
