It’s Complicated

Apologies for the late post today, it’s our first day back in the office and everyone has been catching up with each other. How was yours? I sense tons of engagements over the holidays!
Anywho, back to my morning chat with the girls. One major thing that I did over the break was catch up on movies and television shows galore. For TV, I’m currently hooked on Chuck and FlashForward. As for movies, I saw Brothers, Avatar and It’s Complicated. Have any of you seen It’s Complicated–starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin? It is hilarious! I won’t give anything away, but what I will share with you, are the delicious chocolate croissants that I spotted from the movie.
In one scene, Meryl (who is a baker) and Steve, go on a date and make these really scrumptious-looking pain au chocolats. Actually, I was so obsessed, that I went out yesterday and bought the roll-out Pillsbury croissants and added chocolate chips. It tasted yummy, but I’m sure they’re nowhere near as good as the real kind. For all you croissant lovers out there, I think adding these buttery goodies to your coffee/tea/dessert table would be a wonderful addition. Or, if you’re having a brunch wedding, it’s very fitting to have them on the menu.

I love chocolate croissants, or as I have come to call them chocolatines (it’s what they call them in french, but being from Quebec it’s what most of us, english or french call them here – lol)
I loved Julie and Julia and It’s complicated was really hilarious! Definitely two worth seeing!
Happy New Year!
Hey Emily,
Have yet to seen Julie and Julia! I know–must catch up. It’s on my to-watch list for the year. Happy New Year to you as well, and welcome to the blogging world.
Cheers!
I just blogged about my resolution to bake and cook more this year – and that picture is just mouthwatering! Have you seen Julie and Julia? Totally my inspiration :)
We’re hoping to catch Avatar (in 3D! A nerd girl’s dream!) this week! Happy new year!
