It’s September!

This picturesque view of Vermont is the ideal scenery for a Fall wedding.

This picturesque view of Vermont is the ideal scenery for a Fall wedding.

Wow. I can’t believe that summer has come and gone–so quickly too. But, I’m such a fan of the Fall season that I’m not sad to see summer behind us. I love the crispness of the air, the colours of the leaves, anticipation of apple picking, Thanksgiving meals, and, of course, my birthday! In honour of the season, here are five fall-inspired ideas that you can use both for entertaining and wedding receptions.

1. Apple Pie
Nothing is more reminiscent of a fall-ish wedding than homemade apple pie! I found this awesome DIY idea from Twig & Thistle. They give you the recipe (or you can use you own) and have a downloadable template that you can stick onto a box that cutely reads: A Little Pie for the Apple of My Eye.

2. Shades of Orange and Brown
Although these aren’t Autumn’s official colours, I think something warm like orange or dark like chocolate brown really emits a Fall-themed celebration. Try incorporating these hues into your bridesmaid dresses. Here are two spotted from J. Crew.

3. Caramel Anything
A sweet favour covered in caramel always reminds me of the Fall season. Maybe it’s because I always eat caramel-covered apples during this time? But anywho, I found this neat idea off of C.J Scott’s blog, who posted that the couple treated guests to home-made caramel popcorn. Yummy!

4. Leave It
I, personally don’t think, an Autumn affair is fully complete until there’s some gorgeous leaves incorporated in it. The tricky part, is being able to present it in an elegant yet tactful manner. So, I did my usual search and stumbled upon this really cute boutonnière by Beaded Flowers. Rather than a usual flower, they created a pretty leaf and berry branch made out of beads.

5. Warm Floral Arrangements
These designs created by Vintage Design Company really hits the spot in terms of a true “fall bouquet”. I love how they mixed and matched everything from vintage-looking flowers to berries.

I really love the boquets at the end, it’s hard to explain to a florist that you want that vintage, wildflower look and i think this picture really explains what i was looking for!
