It’s A Cake World After All!

This morning on my way into the office I picked up the building “Community Chronicle”, which is a newsletter that highlights some of the best shops here in central Canada. One cute boutique that caught my eye was Cake Clothing. Located in the Exchange District in Winnipeg, Cake Clothing is run by Rebecca McCormack who introduces a 30-piece collection each season. Most of her collections include really chic and elegant bridesmaid dresses. So, if you’re still on the hunt for gowns, this is the perfect shop to check out. Anywho, after learning about this neat shop, I was inspired to feature other “cake” ideas.
Cake Beauty is another awesome Canadian shop that features the most decadent and delicious-smelling bath products. Right now, I love their All About You set, which includes a body mousse, creamy body buffer and bath and rich bath and shower froth. Seriously, the first time I smelt their products, I felt like I was transported onto a beach somewhere in the Caribbean. I think these make great bridesmaids gifts, and of course a great gift to yourself!
Now I know this entry wouldn’t be complete without actually posting a pretty cake. When I got back from Barbados I received a call about a company called Flour Confections. Their cakes (and cupcakes) are amazing. Found this cute confection off their blog made by Elisa Strauss of Confetti Cakes. Although it was meant for a birthday party, if you remove the little figurines I think it would make an amazing wedding cake. What do you think?

Lastly, on my cake-inspired post of the day, if you haven’t already seen it, is my cake video highlighting our 2009 cake trends of the seasons. No, I did not eat them all, but I sure wish I could. Check it out! There’s some great ideas
