Barbados Round-Up

At last! I’m back in the office and getting my head on straight. But before I start to dig through my piles of e-mails I thought I’d share with you a mini re-cap of Barbados. Did I mention that it was amazing? The first night we stayed at Royal Westmoreland and each of us were assigned, are you ready for this, our own villa. Crazy huh? If you’re looking for complete privacy, a lux stay, and superb service–this is the place to splurge on.

Surrounded by acres of lush greenery (thanks to their golf course), Royal Westmoreland is truly the epitome of heaven on earth. The Royal Villa that I had the privilege of staying in was a two-storey house complete with three bedrooms (each with their own washroom), a living room, a dining room, a fully stocked kitchen and–my fave part–my own personal private pool! Now life doesn’t get any better than that.

After two days of living in the lap of luxury, Siren Communications (the PR team responsible for putting this wonderful trip together) took the rest of the press on over to The Crane. Ooh, wait! I almost forgot to mention. While in transition Anne from Siren’s wanted us to see one of the most romantic spots in Barbados–so if you’re planning on honeymooning there, The Cliff is one restaurant worth checking out. Seriously, I can’t stress how romantic it was to sip on delicious drinks while overlooking the pretty sunset and crystal blue waters.

Now, as for The Crane–I wanted to save the best for last. I can honestly say that it was one of the most laid-back and relaxing resorts I’ve been to in the Caribbean. The Crane is touted as the oldest hotel in the Caribbean and they pride themselves on that by keeping some of the old exteriors in tact–so romantic and historical. The food was amazing, service was impeccable, the beach (labeled as one of the top 10 beaches in the world) was simply spectacular. The best part about this resort was that it felt like you were on a resort sans the crowdedness and noise. I, personally, plan on going back and recommend this place for all of you looking for some major R&R.
