Give the Gift that Gives
The other day I was on a site looking for favours, and they had this section entitled practical favours. So I thought to myself, hmm, what’s a nice yet practical gift? True, the items that appeared were practical, but they didn’t wow me.
There was a salt shaker and a candy scoop favour—these were every day items that your guests already have, more often than not, and to be honest they weren’t very, how shall I word this, visually captivating. I’d rather give guests something more meaningful and worth my money. If you’re stuck on what to give as favours, or aren’t picky about what to give, then I’d consider a donation in lieu of favours. I’m a big supporter of this idea, and if you’re worried about not giving your guests anything, you could always leave them something sweet like a small mint or candy. One popular place that I’ve seen people donate is the Cancer Research Foundation (cancerresearchfoundation.com), where guests receive these bracelets and a little card that says you’ve donated on their behalf.
