The Summer of Purple has just Begun
I have said it before, but I’m going to say it again: Purple is the HOT colour for 2010.
The season has barely started and I have already had the pleasure of designing three purple-themed weddings! This past weekend’s was a beautiful cocktail reception being held at the Toronto Hunt Club.
We created this garden design from a mixture of purple spray roses, Silverstone purple roses, purple hydrangea, mauve freesia, and dark purple double lisianthus. It was important to this couple that the ceremony flowers were able to be re-used at the reception, so we had vessels ready on the cocktail tables to hold the pew vases, the standards decorated the dance floor, and we even had flowers put in the brides mother’s soup tureen, so that this arrangement could be used at their family luncheon the following day. A perfectly practical wedding!

We have made our wedding centred with the purple theme – and couldn’t have made a better choice!!! Our bridesmaids dresses are a deep eggplant purple with black sashes, and then all of the flowers are various shades of purple… It looks incredible, and something that hasn’t been overly common!
