Floral Expressions
Allow the flowers to express you.
Most couples are concerned about how the flowers will match a carpet or wallpaper, will they suit the venue, be too bright or too white, fill the ceilings…but my question is, should they?
A wedding should be an expression of an individual couple, a unique statement of who they are and where they are going, together. The flowers should be a part of that story.
Last weekend I was asked to design flowers to suit the bride, a young, fun girl, that was not big on old-fashion flowers. And as a result, I delivered some very fun and funky arrangements to a stunning old Greek church in the West end. Not what you might expect for this particular venue.
The standards were a tropical mixture of king proteas, dendrobium orchids, anthuriums, dedum, and berzillia berries. They defiantly stood out against the traditional surroundings. While certainly a breath of fresh air, more importantly, they helped bring another aspect of the bride and groom to the ceremony.
