Welcome Heat Wave
There is nothing better than a warm yellow palate to usher in the heat of the summer. This bright wedding over looked our beautiful city from the skyscraper restaurant Canoe.
I had fun using a variety of flowers to get the yellow theme into each and every arrangement. The standards used a hedge of yellow gladiolas with a rim of white hydrangea. The main centrepieces were large mounds of white hydrangea and yellow dahlias. The wish tree had yellow mokara orchids blooming on the branches of manzanita. The favours were bud vases of either a mass of yellow gladiolas or white hydrangea, that were used to compliment the guest tables along with the main centerpiece.

My favorite arrangement was on the head table. Placed on top of a tall square vase was a ball of yellow mokara orchids. In the vase I designed three spheres made of yellow button mums—suspended as if floating in mid air. This arrangement was so unique from the rest— there was no doubt that it marked the most important table in the room.

I don’t get asked to design very many yellow-themed weddings! Are you planning a yellow wedding? What flowers are you going to use to get your colour scheme across? Please share. ☺

Hi Diana! Thanks for the question. They are Manzanita branches, which most florists should be able to source for you. Otherwise, I would be more then happy to talk to you about either renting or buying them from Cool Green & Shady.
I was wondering where you found your tree for the centerpiece??
My centrepieces and head table arrangements are yellow spider mums, dahlias, peonies and white hydrangeas.
