A rose today, a rose tomorrow!
We did an all rose wedding last weekend, and I really must say, as common as the rose is, it still is a flower to be marveled at. Look at this bouquet, how simple, how elegant, how “Weddingbells“!
The rose’s main appeal with wedding work is their availability in an array of colour, of which growers keep making new and interesting varieties every year. I remember when there was no such thing as a green rose. Does that date me?
If you are a true rose lover, go for gold, and put them everywhere. Have rose bouquets for the entire wedding party. Dozen of roses in each standard to flank your ceremony, and of course put mounds of them in every centrepiece. On the other hand, I’ve even had a bride put a single rose in a tall slender vase on every table and this elegant statement was beautiful as well.
You can also easily submerge roses under water, where they hold their shape very well. Try breaking up roses for their petals to fringe pillar candles or use the petals in water with floating candles.
Roses have been used in floral designs for centuries, proving that their beauty and versatility will never go out of style.
