If you are looking to have your wedding feel more like a summer get-together, rather then a formal affair, adding fruit to your florals may be the perfect solution.
You can slice almost any citrus fruit—such as lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits—and use those to line the vase. If the colour of your event is green, try nestling Granny Smith apples amongst the flowers. Plums are perfect if you need to add a dark purple into arrangements. Grapes falling out of designs create a classic Roman feel that works wonders at some venues.
The most important thing when using fruit is to have fun and experiment with different styles. Go for a lighthearted feel. I’ve even lined the front of head tables with whole fruits to fit the theme of a wedding instead of flowers, and it looks amazing!
