Can’t narrow down your wedding reception song list? How about playing a modern tune? By now, most of you have heard of LMFAO’s top hit ‘Party Rock Anthem’ (Hot 100 Billboard’s number one song this week)–and you’re either in the ‘love it’ or ‘hate it’ category. But, whatever group you belong to, you must admit, it’s catchy and definitely a song that will get your guests (yes even the older generation) onto the dance floor. We spoke to one of Toronto’s most popular wedding DJs, Michael Coombs, owner of Prodigy Entertainment, about the hottest wedding songs of the summer. Given the upbeat tempo of each tune below, let’s just say we weren’t surprised to see that these five were the most requested:

But, what’s a reception list without some oldies? “I’m finding that I’m playing more and more top 40 at weddings than I ever did. Yet, these five feel good songs still get strong play because of their amazing hooks and melodies. How can you not want to dance to these tracks?” Coombs exclaims.
