Win a Copy of The Newlywed Kitchen!
**CONTEST UPDATE**
Congratulations to Sherry Unruh who correctly answered pine nuts, although I was very impressed to read all of the other suggestions, including walnuts and pecans. What foodies you all are! Stayed tuned for more exciting contests both on the site and on our blog.
*Weddingbells chose the winner at random
At Weddingbells we’re big fans of cooking in the kitchen. Personally I love to bake (muffins, pies, and cookies are my favourite), and recently have begun experimenting with new dinner recipes. When it comes to married life, chances are the kitchen is going to become a centre of your household, if it’s not already! After the wedding you’ll want to start experimenting with your new gadgets and appliances you registered for and what better way to do that then with some new recipes?
A new cookbook we think you should definitely consider for your collection is The Newlywed Kitchen: Delicious Meals for Couples Cooking Together. The book is divided up into cutely named categories like “Carry Me Over the Threshold” for starters and snacks and “Who Gets the Remote?” for comfort meals, as well as suggested menus for events like “A Housewarming Party” and “Dinner with the In-Laws.” The pictures are extremely appetizing and interspersed between recipes are real stories from real couples, who also share their advice to other newlyweds.
Written by a former editor of Seattle Bride, Ali Basye and chef and food writer, Lorna Yee, the two felt there was a real void in the market for a cookbook that was practical, accessible and affordable. I really like the variety of recipes, that are easy, yet not boring. It’s a great cookbook for cooks of all skill level, so even if you’re a pro and he’s not, it’s OK! To help one couple get on the road to kitchen bliss, we’re giving away one copy of this book to the foodie who can answer this question: What nut do you need to make pesto?
Answer in the comment section (including a valid email), and I will share who the winner is on Friday! Good luck!!

*Please note this contest is open to Canadian residents only.
