Argentina Bound

WBDec09_buenosairesShortly after Christmas I’ll be travelling way down south to Argentina—its capital, Buenos Aires is often referred to as the “Paris of South America” and is also a very cool honeymoon destination. Buenos Aires will be the first stop and also the place where I’ll be ringing in the New Year. I’m excited to take in all of the culture of this country. Known for their eclectic architecture, influenced by Italy and France, is where their European resemblances stem from. I also plan to visit at least one museum, watching some tango dancing and let’s not forget eat some delicious food! I’ve heard the hype about the steak is true (it’s all about their locally farmed meat), and there’s also Café Tortoni, founded in 1858, where I plan to make a stop for a fresh cup of java.

During my research on hotels, the Alvear Palace Hotel, probably still the most luxurious hotel in the city, has hosted dignitaries and celebrities from the King of Spain to Walt Disney and Naomi Campbell. While the Faena Hotel + Universe, designed by Philippe Stark is a stylish and luxurious experience, visited by many a stars, including Madonna, Lenny Kravitz and Robert Duvall.

From the shopping, to the culture and of course the dining, Buenos Aires has all the essentials for a perfect honeymoon—and let’s not forget the weather! During their summer (which is when Canada has their winter), are temperatures reaching the high-20s. Want to hit the beach? All it takes is a five-hour train ride to Mar del Plata.

Would you honeymoon in Buenos Aires? Tell me where you plan on going.

In Buenos Aires you must stay in our boutique hotel located in the trendy area of Palermo Soho.
Legado Mitico Buenos Aires is a great small hotel for a honeymoon.
    Ask for the Evita room.
