Gone with the Wind
I finally saw one of the most romantic and epic films of all time at a private screening at The Hazelton Hotel. If you haven’t seen the flick, I urge you to take an evening and do so. While it’s not short (running time is just under four hours), it has won 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture, and it contains some of the most famous movie quotes of all time, including, “Frankly dear, I don’t give a damn,” and “You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how,” both said by Rhett Butler played by the dashing Clark Gable.
I won’t give the story away, but it’s definitely a movie you could watch with your guy too. Aside from the marriage and romance storylines, war and tragedy also fuel the plot. Just released by Warner Home Entertainment is the 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collectors Edition, which includes a keepsake box, new documentaries and a 40-page hardcover photo book, also making it a great gift for a movie-loving bridesmaid. I love, love, love that movie – I think I have watched it 3 maybe 4 times and I could totally watch it again!!! I can quote pretty much entire scenes. I agree if you haven’t watched it already … DO!! You won’t regrett it.
Such a great film. So many memorable moments. Rhett striding up the stairs with Scarlet in his arms. The scenery. The “I don’t know nothing about birthin’ no babies” OMG so funny! Glad you got to see it without commercials, I’ve only watched it on television. I bet the extras about the filming are fascinating. Quite a saga.
