The office is buzzing about the Season 3 return of Mad Men this Sunday. In real life, Elisabeth Moss, who plays the ambitious Peggy Olson, is set to wed Saturday Night Live‘s Fred Armisen. She told People.com that she’ll be wearing a Claire Pettibone gown (“The only and first designer I ever wanted.”) and having “medium-sized” nuptials. With the fall fashion runways taking a cue from the ladylike era, it feels very apropos to take some hints from the Mad Men style book and incorporate it into your wedding. We’re thinking pearls, red lips, little white gloves or a blusher for a supremely vintage vibe.
In Claire Pettibone’s fall 2009 bridal collection, a few gowns fit Moss’s off-screen style—she’s been spotted on the red carpet in short cocktail dresses and halters—so I thought I’d offer up a couple I think she might consider walking down the aisle in.
