Ellen Pompeo Elopes
I have to say when I read about Ellen Pompeo’s super low-key marriage last week it really was a breath of fresh air from the Hollywood excess we seem to be overloaded with these days.
People.com reports Pompeo and her new mister, record producer Chris Ivery, were married at City Hall in Lower Manhattan on November 9th, with New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg attending as a witness. When Pompeo and Ivery became engaged last November, she told People they were toying with the idea of a destination wedding and promised that it would be an intimate affair. “There will be no ‘big’ anything,” she said. “It’s going to be very small.” The Sunday following their wedding, Pompeo and Ivery were spotted at a Knicks game before they headed back to L.A. I love that Pompeo stayed true to her word and obviously to her wedding style. Though having a grand celebration is lovely, it’s not for everyone and I do think there’s something very romantic about keeping it just between the two of you. This is certainly one of the freshest Hollywood endings and newlywed beginnings I’ve heard in a long time.
