Vera’s Latest and Greatest
Last week I had the pleasure of visiting with the lovely ladies at Vera Wang, Toronto, and getting up close and personal with the Fall 2010 collection. These gorgeous gowns were in town for a limited time only before being whisked away to their next stop on a whirlwind trunk-show circuit. I had, of course, seen photos of the collection, but nothing compares to seeing them in person! I was especially blown away by this dress (pictured left) and it’s exquisite hand-painted layers of silk…the sort of awe-inspiring detail that just can’t be accurately captured on film. This latest collection’s dramatic black and white colour scheme was actually inspired by the film My Fair Lady, specifically the scene when Eliza Doolittle (played by Audrey Hepburn) attends the Astor Race Track in a striking ensemble (if you can’t picture it, google it—I promise you won’t regret it!). The collection also features many of Vera’s signatures, such as lily of the valley embellishments and architectural details (dimensional ruffles and 3-D oversized bows). If you’re still searching for your dream dress, check out the full collection here. You just might find the one!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the dress witht he black sash and applique! GORGEOUS! I’m usually not a fan of ruffles, but that dress is simply stunning!
Oh wow, those are some amazing dresses! I have a bit of a confession… I may be buying a whole new dress (!). LONG story!!
