Around the Weddingbells office the Academy Awards are serious business. In fact, we’ve already submitted our ballots to the WB pool. Naturally, there’s nothing more serious, or more controversial, than what Hollywood’s hottest starlets wear on the red carpet. For this reason, we’ve added our own category to the official ballot: Best Dressed. Diane Kruger (pictured) is Stephanie’s pick, and while I went with Maggie Gyllenhaal (she nailed it at the Golden Globes), I can most definitely appreciate Kruger’s fashion prowess. In this particular shot, she’s wearing Marchesa at Cannes. I’ve chosen to share this with you for two reasons. Firstly, Marchesa, a glamorous line favoured by Tinseltown’s hottest stars, has recently ventured into bridal design. Indeed, a little birdie told me that White, Toronto will be carrying their line exclusively here in Canada. There’s even a trunk show scheduled for April 3 & 4 (which will be here before you know it!), so start planning now if you see a Marchesa wedding dress in your future. Second of all, I just wanted to note how important the back of a dress can be! Remember that your back will be facing your guests as you say your vows. In other words, make sure your gown looks gorgeous from all angles. This is your red-carpet moment after all.
