If the shower is a surprise, the maid of honour should indicate this on the invitation. Let guests know the theme and ambiance so they can dress and prepare accordingly-especially for the type of gift they give. Mail paper invitations or send email invites and make sure you are registered at the time of the shower. It is acceptable to include registry information as most brides use the shower as an opportunity to receive gifts and treats for their home.
