Honeymoon with Lanvin

Ahhh, the honeymoon. It’s such a nice way to wind down after the wedding and really take that time to break away from the real world with each other. I suspect many of you are thinking of a sunny and beachy destination to get some R&R. When it comes time to pack for your big vacay, I found a really stylish honeymoon suitcase from Lanvin you’ll definitely want to use on this travel and every single sunny locale you jet off to after. Honeymoon in Nevis

Have you heard of Nevis? To be honest I hadn’t heard of this tiny Caribbean island until recently. It’s located in the West Indies, and its sister island is St. Kitts. Nevis itself only has a population of 10,000, is 36-square-miles and is known for its natural, unspoiled land. Unlike some of the other Caribbean islands, Nevis has rainforests, monkeys and ruins from the plantation era — perfect if you want more than just stunning beaches for your honeymoon. There are a large range of accommodations on Nevis, from historic plantation inns to guest houses and five-star resorts. One resort that caught my eye was the Montpelier Plantation Resort, a restored 18th century plantation set on a 60-acre estate with 19 rooms.

Hello, Switzerland

Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel.

This week I will be saying goodbye to Canada and hello to Switzerland. The purpose of my travels? To find out what makes this country a beautiful honeymoon destination. I’ll be arriving in Zurich on Monday, then taking the train to the village of Gstaad where I’ll say two nights at the incredibly luxurious Grand Hotel Bellevue. In the day I’ll be exploring the streets via an electric bike and picnic-ing on the Alp Walig. Then I’ll head to Basel (Switzerland’s second-largest city) to explore all of the amazing sites the city has to offer — eat chocolates and pastries too of course, then rest up at the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois. Honeymoon in Antigua

Carlisle Bay

For those of you who follow myself or the Weddingbells team on Twitter then you may have heard I came back from vacation in Antigua. I’ve never been there before and for any of you looking for a sunny honeymoon destination I would absolutely recommend it. Boasting their 365 beaches (one for every day of the year), the landscape is lush and mountainous, weather hot and people very friendly. Read the rest of this entry »

The Bachelor Heads to St. Lucia

Jade Mountain in St. Lucia.

Jade Mountain in St. Lucia.

I’ll admit it—I’ve been watching The Bachelor. It’s my Monday-night, guilty pleasure and sometimes all you need is some light TV-watching. For those of you who don’t watch and need a catch up, at the end of Monday’s episode, there was no rose ceremony. Ali (my personal top choice) chose to leave to show so she wouldn’t lose her job. While I suspect Ali might return (in the preview, she calls Jake), there are still three women left for him to make his wife and he’s already declared he’s in love with more than one. Which one? Well, I hope it’s like Jillian and Ed from The Bachelorette and Ali returns to get the proposal, but honestly at this point I’m scared to admit I think he may pick Vienna. Luxurious Affair

wbjune09_ceremony

I just returned from the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman from a luxury wedding business symposium called Engage!09 (hosted by the fabulous Rebecca Grinnals), and spent a few days among some of the wedding “greats” like designer extraordinaire, Preston Bailey; cake guru, Sylvia Weinstock; and the editorial director of Martha Stewart Weddings, Darcy Miller (to only name a few of the talented attendees).
