I Love My Nespresso

Citiz Nespresso & Milk

Citiz Nespresso & Milk

Confession: I love coffee. I currently drink one (maybe two) cups a day, but there was a time when a pot was my typical consumption (too much, I know). Usually if I buy a coffee, it’s an Americano (espresso with hot water). I got turned on to espresso when I worked at an Italian restaurant, but still enjoy drip and the fancy drinks too – like lattes and mochachinos (although my wallet doesn’t). When it comes to registering, you’re probably going to include a coffee-related machine – whether that’s a traditional coffee maker, espresso machine, etc. If you’re wanting something sleek and easy to use, I definitely recommend the Citiz Nespresso machine. A Fine Wine

It is said the right crystal wineglass, just like the right china teacup, enhances the flavour of your vintage. Though I personally am not a wine connoisseur, my guy is, and he’s currently hooked on these Bordeaux and Burgundy tumblers by Rosenthal Studio-Line.

Behind the Shoot

It’s hard to keep up around the Weddingbells office these days. We are in the trenches of magazine production, getting our Fall & Winter 2008 issue ready to ship out the door and onto newsstands by July.

A Registry Must

We’ve been talking a lot about Earth Month, and as I mentioned last week, we are all about bringing you great green ideas, ones that even extend to your registry. I just happened upon a great one for your kitchen essentials wish list, a cool kettle that’s eco-friendly!

The Perfect Prezzie

I recently celebrated my birthday and, as usual, was spoiled rotten by all the wonderful people in my life. The big day was November 23rd, but the festivities started November 17th and just wound up this weekend—now that’s a birthday! There were lots of lunches, dinners, a weekend away with the beau, a day of shopping with Mom and some fabulous gifts.

Tabletop Trends

I’m just back from the Big Apple where Catherine, WB’s living specialist, and I power-schmoozed our way through all the fabulous spring dinnerware introductions you’ll be coveting for your registry. One of the biggest buzzes at the New York show: bridal designer Monique Lhuillier for Royal Doulton.

Tea Time

Last week I, along with my editors Roseanne, Sara and Catherine, had the pleasure of stopping for a few hours during the afternoon to indulge in the tradition of high tea at a gorgeous event planned by the tabletop experts at Wedgwood. About 50 editors were treated to this age-old English tradition at Toronto’s King Edward hotel, where we sipped a classic black-tea brew from Jasper Conran White bone-china teacups (tea really does taste better from a china cup!) and enjoyed finger sarnies, scones and teeny sweet treats.

Registry Rundown

Last week I was checking out what’s new and haute for your registry at the biannual Canadian Gift and Tableware Association show in Toronto. I saw so much cool stuff; I don’t envy you having to narrow things down to a pattern or two for your wish list! One trend that I picked up on right away that is huge for the coming year is black and white tableware.
