There are only 50 days left until the big day and I’m ready to knock one more task off of the “to do” list.
My dress is supposed to arrive in February and I know it’s important to bring your wedding shoes to the dress fitting. This means I have to go get shoes! I have never been a shoe person. I always thought I would just wear running shoes under my wedding dress and go for comfort. My mom has convinced me that I could use a little bit of extra height though. Read the rest of this entry »

Finding a photographer in Toronto is not easy. Yes, there are lots to choose from…but that only makes it harder! Where do you even start? Well, lucky for us, my sister is really into photography and was also on the hunt to find a photographer for her wedding. She researched photographers like crazy, so when she found one that impressed her, I knew it was worth setting up a meeting to meet the photographer. I love to bake. I love cupcakes, cakes, cookies and anything else with lots of sugar! This year, I’ve really gotten into making cupcakes and I was certain that I wanted cupcakes instead of a wedding cake. Then, to complicate things, I also tried making my first tiered fondant cake.

A few years ago, I started to train at the Centre of Gravity. Maleke was working on hand balancing at the time and he definitely caught my attention. We had so much fun together right off that bat. I would make up silly handstand contests or challenge him to wrestling matches. After a few months, he finally asked me out. I’m not the kind of girl who has been planning her wedding since she was a little girl. It’s not that I’m anti-marriage (all you need is love!) but the idea of pink roses, shiny diamonds and the Macarena, make we want to throw up all over the bonbonnières. On the other hand, I’m obsessed with organizing and planning. I’ve chosen a career as a production coordinator for film and TV—currently working on the TV series, The Tudors, so it’s really is in my nature to plan and craft one hell of an original event. My life is filled with circus, vegan cupcakes and love. It is far from ordinary and I want my wedding day to be the same. I’m entering the Alternative category because I’m pretty sure our wedding will be far from usual.
