Over the past 25 years, Weddingbells has traveled the globe in the name of fashion to shoot beautiful gowns against a beautiful backdrop. Italy, Arizona, Barbados, Bermuda are just a few of the places we’ve been, but I’d have to say one of my favourite shoot locales was very close to home—Collingwood, Ontario, located just a two-hour drive from Toronto. Flipping through previous issues of Weddingbells, one thing is clear: bridal footwear has come a long way in 25 years. During the 1980s, shoe options were few and far between, and even the most fashion-forward brides were stuck wearing low-heel white satin pumps. Nowadays, on the other hand, brides are choosing to walk down the aisle in everything from sexy stilettos to whimsical ballet flats and even—yes—rubber rainboots!
