Garden Party

MaiBojan and I are not your typical married couple-to-be.  We started dating in 2001 and five years later, introduced a lovely little boy, Ivan, into the world.  Just recently, we added Nicolas to our growing family.  Although we have done things unconventionally, the decision to finally get married makes perfect sense for us now, as our relationship is the strongest it has ever been.

For my wedding to Bojan, I envision a small, intimate affair of 30 guests or fewer. To us, family takes first priority and we would like to include Ivan and Nicolas in our special day.  We would like to be married outdoors in a quiet, garden-like setting with a delicate archway and simple white chairs for our guests.  Our reception would be held in a classy restaurant or perhaps under a small, white tent—something private, quiet and to be shared with our loved ones. Our decor will be simple yet elegant, as we would like to highlight the love shared between us.  We hope the strength of our relationship and the importance of family will be apparent to all of our guests.

I would be a fantastic blogger for Weddingbells.  Firstly, I am currently on maternity leave and have plenty of free time to document my trials and tribulations with the wedding planning process.  Secondly, I am known for my humour and would add a candid, light-hearted read to an otherwise stressful time for several brides-to-be.  Please select me as a Weddingbells blogger!

  • Stef says:

you might’ve got through but it’s a hollow victory. how many hundreds of votes for you came from the same little computer in London Ontario.

  • Me says:

CLEARLY WEDDINGBELLS HAVE ALREADY PICKED THEIR WINNER, THEY LET THIS CHEATER GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING, PROTECT HER FROM HAVING ANYTHING NEGATIVE ON HER POST (WHILE THEY LET PHILLIPPA’S STAY UP FOR DAYS!!!!!!) AND EVEN EDIT HER COMMENTS SO SHE DOESN’T SOUND BAD!!!! FIX!!!!!

  • Belinda says:

Mai – I wish you the best of luck and although I don’t know the people who have made the rude comments I apologize on their behalf, I wouldn’t want someone to post that on my blog.

  • May says:

    Mai,

Don’t listen to the haters. Not necessary to fight fire with fire. I just hope that if Belinda wins, we all don’t sink down to that level!

    Good luck!

  • Jenny says:

Go Mai Go!! We love you! We’re all cheering you on!!

  • sarah says:

Agreed!! Make the contest fair or judge it yourselves, just like somebody said on another post, make it fair or dont have it at all!

  • rachel says:

at least if you make it to the next round (which i’m sure you’ll spend many hours ensuring) ppl will know your tricks

  • Sarah says:

    Mai,

  • Judith says:

    Mai,

Your story is quite similar to mine (bride-again category) and was compelled to vote for you and comment. I love that your family is the center of the whole wedding because I know my daughter will play a big role in our wedding. You’ve painted a wonderful picture of your wedding day and I’m sure it’ll be beautiful! I just love it that you’re showing your children just how much you love each other; so wonderful!

Best of luck to you and I wish you the best.

    Cheers,
    Judith
