Meet the Finalists

Say hello to our 14 finalists! As I mentioned last week, it was a tough job, but we managed to select our top two brides in each category. But now we’re handing the task of picking the 7 bloggers to you—the readers. After you’ve read their entries explaining why they should blog for Weddingbells, you’ll need to pick your favourite. Don’t forget you can come back to vote everyday until October 16. The bride in each category with the most votes will go on to win some fabulous prizes AND get to blog for us! So, who’s journey do you want to follow? Who can you already relate to? Tell us and start voting now.

I am not sure “Me” is reading these posts correctly. Weddingbells has picked the top two contestants in EACH CATEGORY… that means they originally picked the top 14 (7 categories, 2 in each category) that we’ve been voting on for the last month. THAT is what they’re saying, not that they’ve already picked the final two brides for the whole thing.

  • Me says:

See you just admitted you’ve already picked your top two brides!!! Fix!!!!!! Look what you’ve done to protect Mai clearly she’s your number 1

    Hello all!!

Just a reminder that voting ends today! We are continuing to edit comments that use foul language and attack others.
We want to remind everyone that we are not choosing the winners. We already picked the top two brides per category and now it’s up to you. There is still a couple hours left, so no matter what percentage you see up when you vote it may change.
Unfortunately with the internet random users can make claims and accusations.
Best of luck to all, no matter what the outcome, we’ve been cheering you all on because you all have wonderful weddings!

    Stephanie

I see that Mai’s comment was edited… why hide somebody’s true colors? Doesnt make the magazine look good when you control how people come across to the public and raises suspicions of it being fixed… perhaps this girl is a favorite of wedding bells staff????

Also where can i find out what the prizes are for the winners and the runners up????

  • May says:

    well said Belinda!

    Hello,

I know there are many of you out there concerned about the voting numbers and as we originally stated, it is up to the readers, not Weddingbells to pick the winners. We picked our top 2 in each category and now leave the rest in your hands.
We realize it’s tough with it being the final few days, but we encourage fair play, and are monitoring the back-end to ensure voting don’t get out of hand.
We would also like to remind everyone to keep the environment friendly! Let your votes do the talking.

    Sincerely,

    Stephanie

  • Leanne says:

Well said Belinda. I really hope you get through – you’ve clearly demonstrated your maturity in rising above it all and I would love to follow your wedding planning.

  • Belinda says:

I didn’t want to get involved in all of these discussions around why some people have increased or decreased, but I hope that everyone knows that a fun contest should’t be a reason to attack others. Whomever wins wins, simple as that. I just wanted an opportunity to share my experience with others and to have some fun while doing so. I hope that is the same reason everyone has chosen to be involved.

  • Sophie says:

I still think that the final 7 should be judged by the Wedding Bells staff and not by a system that can easily be doctored

  • Mai says:

    To add to Sophie’s comment:

I think it is entirely possible for votes to swing a few percentage this way or that, seeing as in my category alone, I dropped 20-odd percent just a week ago.

Sophie – Clearly, you are able to remain on the site for several hours at a time as well (like now!). Your insinuations are rude and senseless. Why don’t you let your voting do the talking? Besides, I am home with a toddler and a newborn… any mother would agree that one child, let alone two, take up a lot of time!

And just because I’m having an intimate wedding, doesn’t mean I don’t have other friends, co-workers, and yes, FAMILY who can vote for me. Belinda is also in the INTIMATE category and I’m sure she has votes from people who aren’t guests at her wedding.

  • Sophie says:

Wedding Bells, I have been voting everyday in the blogger contest and theres been lots of talk about cheating and dishonesty and I don’t want to name any names but its definately possible that some people might not have jobs and can just make extra accounts on the site to vote. And I really don’t think its fair for the other girls who have to be at work all day long and can’t vote as well as the honest girls who rely only on their friends voting for them. I think once the semi finals are over you at Wedding Bells should have the final say on the main prize winner because a trip and a $5000 dress up for grabs could bring out the worst in people and I think everyone should have a fair chance and you should pick the girl in the end, that way it’s fair to everybody.

  • Stephanie Gray says:

    Hi Tash,

The decision comes down to the votes by the readers. Since the editors at Weddingbells chose the top two it wouldn’t be fair for us to also vote – so really it’s up to all of you!!

    Stephanie

  • Lucy says:

“A bit full of themselves”….hmmm who could you be talking about?? lol

  • Tash says:

Is it going to be based SOLELY on votes or do you people at Wedding Bells have a say as well? Because there’s some people I really think deserve to go through and others seem kind of a bit full of themselves and I’d hate it to be more of a popularity contest than actually based on which girl SHOULD go through. I’m still going to vote every day for who I want to go through but I was wondering if it was only based on our votes

  • Leanne says:

I vote for Charlotte and Seth!!! She would be the most beautiful bride and she truly does deserve all the hapinness in the world!! xoxoxo
