Perfect Nude Lip

Chelsea Girls Lip Lacquer by NARS
A nude mouth oozes sex appeal. That is of course, if you are wearing the right shade. There is nothing more unattractive than a washed out, chalky nude lip. The last thing you want is your mouth looking like it has been erased from the rest of your face! This is where Chelsea Girls Lip Lacquer by NARS comes to the rescue. I have been using it for over a decade and it is my absolute go-to for the perfect nude lip. For some reason this shade looks like it will be all wrong in the package, but it seems to work on almost all skin tones. It is nude without being too nude. It is a nice balance of not too pink and not too peach, but can go either way by layering a lip shade of your choice underneath.
If you don’t have a neutral shade of lipstick (or liner), a little trick for before you apply a nude gloss is to dab a bit of your concealer across your mouth with a sponge or your finger, as if you are applying a light coat of lip balm. It will help knock back the natural colour of your lips and give you a nice clean canvas to start with—especially for those who have particularly dark pigment to their lips.
As for how to wear a nude mouth on your wedding day: My favourite way is to pair it with a smoldering smoky eye. Amazing for an evening wedding. It’s the perfect combination of modern, classy and sexy.

Thanks for your comment Christina, but not all brides are alike. The spectrum for a smokey eyes is very large, you can have a beautiful soft smokey eye that will in fact make your eyes pop in photographs. As for the nude mouth, if you are wearing the right nude, it should not wash your face out and paired with the right blush, it really is a beautiful look for some brides. Brides should go with a look that suits them and they feel comfortable in. There are no rules set in stone!
Most makeup advice for weddings is to have a rosy lip a couple of shade darker or brighter than your natural lip colour and to use some extra rosy blush. A pale lip in wedding photos will wash out your smile, and if you have smoky eyes you might not be able to see them with all that smiling! Blush and lip colour are the key products for wedding makeup for pictures.
