The last two weeks I’ve had much time to reflect on the idea of marriage and what it truly means to me. We’ve decided to write our own vows and I’ve given much thought to what I would like to say to my husband-to-be to sum up our last 10 years and express my love, admiration and respect for him. Being Cost Conscious
I feel fortunate to have my fiancé give me free-reign to plan the wedding as I see fit. I love this about him but I also want to be budget conscious. For me, having a lavish affair would be OK if we had the money for it, but it is not nearly as important as having all of our loved ones with us to share the day. We still want the day to be about our union but cost is a huge consideration. We have fixed expenses from years of living together, student debt, and children.

Backyard Wedding Here We Come!
I’ve never been to a backyard wedding but I imagine it would be quite beautiful and intimate. Having just moved in to

And so the Madness Begins…
What an exciting year 2010 will be! Not only will I be marrying the greatest man I’ve ever known but I will also be buying my first home and making a career change—all this while somehow managing to raise two fantastic boys.
Bojan and I started dating in our final year of high school after meeting through mutual friends. He is incredible in every sense of the word: generous, witty, intelligent, kind—everything I could possibly ask for in a best friend and husband. I always knew he would be a great father and he’s shown me that he can be that and much more. Watching him interact with Ivan and Nicolas is absolutely beautiful. Read the rest of this entry »

Garden Party
Bojan and I are not your typical married couple-to-be. We started dating in 2001 and five years later, introduced a lovely little boy, Ivan, into the world. Just recently, we added Nicolas to our growing family. Although we have done things unconventionally, the decision to finally get married makes perfect sense for us now, as our relationship is the strongest it has ever been.
