“Wow” Vow Renewal

Vow renewal. It’s the LAST thing on your mind right now, I know. But kinda neat to think about! Especially once you see pictures of a kick-butt vow renewal like this one shot by Micah and Megan Dahlberg. This is a whole other level of cuteness. Kelly and Neil have been married five years and Kelly shared with La Belle Bride the details behind their vow renewal:

We were renewing our vows after five years of awesomeness together. Since we weren’t having a wedding party, and we wanted every guest to be part of the day, we requested that everyone where black and/or white. Our location was the garden behind The Five Crowns, a British restaurant, which was totally for my British husband. We were celebrating our five years together and wanted the party to have an antique garden feel. We put pictures of us through the years on each table, along with clocks (celebration of time) and trinkets that were important to us. We wanted an intimate dinner with family and friends. DIY Invitations – Free templates!

Feeling creative? Looking to save a few bucks on your wedding invitations? Why not try and design them yourself? I’ve mentioned in previous posts how DIY invitations can definitely save you some money if you find a reasonable paper provider (hello Staples!). However the most appealing aspect of designing your own invitations lies in the endless ways you can personalize them. The colour, theme and wording can all be crafted to your perfect specifications. I had an absolute ball creating my own wedding invitations. Read the rest of this entry »

Muskoka Wedding

I thought for today’s post we’d take a little trip up to the Muskokas.  Cottage season has officially arrived after all!  Outdoor or rustic, cottage-esque weddings are becoming very popular over on La Belle Bride.  Some brides prefer the comfort of a laid back, outdoor-friendly venue rather than the traditional banquet hall wedding.  And can you blame them?  Fresh air, lovely outdoor photos and a chance for your guests to ditch the stress of the city to relax up north. DIY Cupcake Stand

I thought it was time for a little DIY treat from La Belle Bride. We’ve been working on a few DIY projects and free downloads as of late, but this one is by far my favourite! This project is an amazing addition to any wedding shower or wedding. It was incredibly fun to make—only drawback is that it made me eat cupcakes. And more than one of them at that!  Enjoy! Rockin’ Your Dress

{Photography courtesy Luca Ragogna}

I’m not going to lie to you. Having a photographer follow me around on my wedding day made me feel so glam. Sounds silly, but it’s so true and I can confidently say that I’m sure 80% of you will feel the same way (to you other 20%—bless your humble little hearts). For many of us, our wedding day will be the one and only time we’ll get this sort of VIP treatment so we better enjoy it! Read the rest of this entry »

Farm Fresh Wedding

Dare I say it?  Summer is around the corner. When this little gem of a wedding popped into my inbox over at La Belle Bride it screamed of warm weather and fresh air. And well, I just had to share it with you! Today’s real wedding comes care of Jeremie Barlow Photography.  Jeremie is one of my fave photographers and her style of photography is both artistic and stylish. Our bride and groom, Jackie and Hairy are cute as buttons. They look like they should be the poster children for Dove soap, right? So fresh and clean cut!

From the sweet wild florals, to the charming mason jars and sweet tea lights—this wedding put me in a summer state of mind. Hope it does for you too!  Xoxo Chantale from La Belle Bride. Read the rest of this entry »

Engagement Shoots and You

Over at La Belle Bride, I’ve seen hundreds of engagement shoots. In some ways I love scrolling through engagement photos more than wedding photos! You can really get the vibe of what a couple is all about via their engagement photos. Which brings about a good question: should you have input as to where you take your engagement photos. Answer: Heck. Yes. Read the rest of this entry »

Flowerless Centrepieces

{Andrea Dozier Photography}

Spring has definitely sprung here in Toronto!  And while the warm weather has many brides flocking to their florists for gorgeous flowers in season—some brides just aren’t flower people. I mentioned in last week’s post that opting for flowerless centrepieces can mean serious savings budget-wise for your wedding.  So this week I thought I’d feature a few ideas you could easily copy and adapt for any style wedding.  Enjoy!
