Bridesmaid Costs
Q: My bridesmaids and I have decided to go with outfits from something like Banana Republic instead of typical bridesmaid dresses so they can wear them again. Would it be inappropriate if they paid for the outfits themselves, or should I pay for them? The same goes for hair and make-up, if they decide to get it done professionally.
There’s no hard rule stating that you “need” to pay for your bridesmaids’ dresses, makeup or hair. Although since they are doing this all for you, paying for them is one way to express your gratitude towards them. If you’re on a strict budget, and it makes you uncomfortable not to pay, maybe you can compromise and pay for just their hair and makeup or for just their dress.
