Q: My ceremony and reception are at the same location. I have three bridesmaids and their daughters are the flower girls. The parents of the bridesmaids would like to see the ceremony but financially, I don’t think I can have them stay for the sit-down dinner. Would this be rude for them to stay for cocktails but leave before the dinner and take the little ones? What do I do?
A: Staying for the ceremony and cocktails to see their grandchildren is a perfect gesture. The parents of the bridesmaids should not be offended if they cannot stay for the dinner considering they asked to come, as opposed to being sent an invite. It might also be a good idea to talk it over with your bridesmaids so they can help share the news.
