Emmy Pick: Christina Hendricks
I have been crushing on the Mad Men bombshell since the show debuted, but last night at the Emmy Awards, Christina Hendricks took my love to a new level with her divine red carpet look. Is this woman not a living, breathing goddess?! Everything about her look (which was reportedly inspired by Mia Farrow in the Great Gatsby) is superb. Her lavender, feather-trimmed Zac Posen dress was a standout—it hugged her every curve, was frothy, feminine and the epitome of what I think a Hollywood starlet should wear on the red carpet. The colour was the perfect complement to her pale skin and fiery red hair, which also looked amazing tucked up into a makeshift bob complete with soft waves. She kept her accessories to a minimum and her makeup was dramatic, but still fresh and pretty. According to bellasugar.com, Christina’s makeup artist Vanessa Scali used YSL Ombre Solo eyeshadow in Cashmere Brown and Midnight black to give eyes smoke, finishing the look with Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in black and several coats of Lancôme Définicils mascara. Rosy nude lips were created with a combo of Lancôme’s Color Design Matte Lipstick in Corset, topped with La Laque Fever Lipshine in Cyber Coral. From head to toe, Christina was flawless and her whole look is oh-so-wedding day appropriate.
