Bridal Beauty Picks: Lips
I have always been a huge lipstick fan and thanks to Mad Men, old fashioned lippy (rather than gloss) is definitely making a comeback. Rich matte lips looks sexy and modern and a long-wear formula is just the ticket for your wedding day. On that note, let me introduce you to the latest and greatest product from François Nars, NARS Pure Matte, a collection of six perfect matte lipsticks ($30 each) in shades ranging from nude to ruby. Currently I’m loving the collection’s rich red Vesuvio, which is a colour Mad Men’s resident vixen Joan Holloway would definitely rock (even for her wedding day). Unlike other matte formulas I’ve tried, NARS’ are very hydrating and still go the distance. In a day, I only have to reapply once or twice to refresh colour. I’ll leave you with some advice from François himself on how to create a gorgeous full pout—wear bold lip colour, apply a dab of shimmering gloss to the centre of lips and use a lip liner to create a perfect lip outline (making sure to blend it well!).
