The Perfect Country Getaway

The glorious Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa.

Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa is one of those special places that once you’ve been, you’ll want to go back again and again.Located in Cambridge, Ontario (just over a one-hour drive from Toronto), I was first smitten with its charm a few years back and when I was planning my wedding for last February, it was the only venue on my list—my husband and I both adore it there. One of Canada’s 16 prestigious Relais & Chateaux properties, Langdon Hall is all about relaxed luxury. Situated on 200 breathtaking acres, the Hotel has a variety of gorgeous rooms to choose from (there are three areas you can stay in—the main house, the stables or the cloister wing), featuring ultra-chic country décor, and amenities like wood-burning fireplaces and decadent soaker tubs. I have stayed in all three types of rooms at Langdon Hall and LOVE them all. For my latest visit last week, I stayed in a new Cloister suite, which featured a walk out to the garden and neighbouring pool area. It was very Zen and it was terribly difficult to leave after two glorious, unplugged days. While at Langdon Hall, I did a lot of relaxing, some spa-ing (a killer aromatherapy massage and manicure), and tons of eating! Food is a particular passion at Langdon Hall. Last year chef Jonathan Gushue, was recognized as one of the best in the world with the Grand Chef Relais & Chateaux designation; this year Langdon made the coveted San Pellegrino World’s 100 Best Restaurants list. When I was choosing the food for my intimate wedding there, the menu was one taste sensation after another—if you have your celebration at Langdon you can be guaranteed the menu will be a major buzz (for more information about Langdon Hall’s wedding packages click here). Langdon Hall definitely one of the jewels in Canada’s hotel crown—I highly recommend a stay, a lunch, teatime or dinner there. Simply divine.

Langdon Hall's guest rooms are luxe and country cozy.

This was the scene at Langdon Hall for my February wedding. Gorge!
