Gaga for Old Country Roses
Last week I was in NYC checking out all the newest registry goodies at the bi-annual 41 Madison tableware show. I saw so many beautiful things for the home—whenever I come back from this show I always want to re-do my house and stock my kitchen and dining room with pretty new things. My favourite introduction at this market was Marchesa for Lenox. More on that tomorrow. Today, I wanted to share a fun little story about Lady Gaga and her recent affinity for the classic Royal Albert pattern Old Country Roses.
Lately Gaga’s accessory of choice is a teacup and saucer. She’s been snapped repeatedly by the paps emerging from her limo with cups and saucers in various patterns, Old Country Roses being one of the most iconic ones. This is a pattern that’s always been near to my heart—both my grandmother and mother have it. For decades, it has continued to be one of the world’s most popular dinnerware patterns. At the New York show, Royal Albert introduced a few new pieces to the ever-expanding line and one of them is this precious chintz salad plate. LOVE! You will be able to register for this in September when it hits stores.
