A Weddingbells’ Reader Writes
Model Monika Schnarre on our Fall + Winter 1987 cover.
Imagine my surprise last week when an email from model/actor Monika Schnarre appeared in my in-box. Just in case you are not familiar with Ms. Schnarre, at 14 she won Ford Model’s Supermodel of the world contest and appeared on the cover of Vogue AND Weddingbells (more on that in a mo). Her acting resume includes TV shows including Beverly Hills 90210, Charmed, The King of Queens, and more. Monika is newly engaged and dropped me a line to share her good news and her surprise at seeing her 1987 Weddingbells cover printed again as part of a gatefold featured on our new issue which pays tribute to our 25th anniversary. This is what she penned to me on March 3:
Dear Alison,
This past weekend I became engaged and, as all newly engaged Canadian
women do, I picked up my copy of Weddingbells. On the inside cover,
I was overjoyed to see my own cover. What a pleasant surprise! I just thought I’d share that with you Looking forward to getting some great ideas from your magazine.
