Oscar Inspiration
The show was long and snoozy, but the fashion hits at the 82nd annual Academy Awards were plentiful. My best of the night vote goes to the gorgeous Best Actress Sandra Bullock. Absolutely flawless!!!! Her heavenly Marchesa sheath (Nicole called Marchesa as an Oscar fave last week), incredible. The glossy, groomed mane, glorious. The barely-there eyes and amazing rich raspberry lips, beauty perfection. If you were watching the red carpet last night looking for aisle style ideas, Sandy B. is your girl—everything about her was classic glamour and would look amazing on your wedding day. Some of my other favourites:
• Best male: Colin Firth in Tom Ford. Hello gorgeous! The tux is definitely back, so tell your groom to get his.
• Best colour trend: Blue. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gabourey Sidibe, Mariah Carey, Mo’Nique and Oprah all rocked it in various shades from electric to navy. It just looked fresh and modern—a perfect colour for bridesmaids!
• Best accessory: Chandelier earrings. Carrie Mulligan’s were gorgeous and looks fabulous paired with her pixie cut and whimsical jeweled Prada gown. They added just the right amount of shimmer and statement. Another accessory I loved—cocktail rings.
• Best hair: The best updo belonged to Vera Farmiga. Her hair was elegant and expertly styled, and looked done, but not overdone. As for down options, loved the less-is-more lush locks of the seriously foxy Best Director Katheryn Bigelow.
