It’s been four days since I stumbled through the door from my Italian soujourn and I think my clock is finally getting back on track. But oh it was so worth screwing up my sleep clock for…what I fantastic time I had! My eight-day trip took me from the heart of Tuscany to the city streets of Rome and I can tell you this is certainly the perfect trip to take for your honeymoon. The food! The sites! The shopping! All so fabulous. It took me a day or two to get into the swing of Rome after being put into a Zen coma at the Adler Thermae Spa Resort in Tuscany, but when I did I was overwhelmed by the history of the city. So much art and so many sites experience! When in Rome you must do as the Romans do and see all the musts—the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, the Forum and of course the Colosseum. I think this last one in particular was my favourite spot. It’s not until your standing inside it that you truly get a sense of this colossal structure dating back to AD 72! If you’re considering Italy for your honeymoon I definitely say si to that. Stay tuned for more about my Italian adventures online in the coming weeks.
