First Dance Numbers

wbjune09_sinatra_350x3502Choosing the song for your first twirl as husband and wife can sometimes be one of the biggest challenges of wedding planning. You and your guy may have ‘your song’ which makes the task super easy. Maybe you have a bunch of songs you love and are special to you for different reasons. Maybe you want your first dance to reflect the theme of your wedding. So many ideas! I recently posted the question on our Twitter page (WeddingbellsMag in case you’re not already a follower): “What’s your first dance?” Here’s what a few of our followers told us.

• “Someone To Watch Over Me” by Frank Sinatra or “When I Fall In Love” by Nat King Cole.
• “How Sweet It Is” by Michael Bublé.
• “We are thinking our first dance song will be something by Firehouse, now it’s just to decide which one.”
• “Then” by Brad Paisley.
• “Already married but our first dance song was “Lovesong” by The Cure.”

How about you? What is your first song? We want to know!

Our first dance song will be From this moment on by Shania Twain we are also having it sung by a soloist during the ceremony after we kiss and as we are signing our paperwork!

“For You” by Kenny Lattimore. The lyrics will get you… very meaningful and beautiful for a wedding.

My fiancee was going through our music trying to find our first song and told me to come downstairs. He grabbed my hand and started to dance with me as he played “Hero” by Enrique Iglasias… I started crying so I knew it was the right one!

  • Sarah says:

My Fiancee is picking out the music for our wedding. He has picked out the fist dance song but it a total surprise to me. I’m excited to find out which one it is

It’s such a tricky choice! We’re tying the knot next year, but we’re already definitely thinking about that first dance. We’d like something with meaningful lyrics that isn’t TOO popular… No pressure, right?! It’s a lot of fun going through the process, though. We just put different songs on and dance and laugh together. It’s been a lot of fun, and that’s the most important thing for us during the planning phase!
