The Wedding Day
Wedding date: December 29, 2007
Guests: 150
Wedding theme: Classic winter romance
Her best moment: “Walking back down the aisle during the recessional while holding Simon’s hand–laughing, crying, feeling so many emotions all at once.”
His best moment: “Seeing Jacqueline for the first time in her dress from afar and getting to kiss the bride!”
What they would have done differently: “We would have had the photographers shoot our reception.”
Advice to others: Make sure you take time to enjoy the reception together–it’s your day.
Wedding song: ‘This Kind of Love’ by Sister Hazel–it says everything about the way we feel for each other.
Fave wedding gift: It’s a tie between our Kitchen Aid blender and our Roomba.
Most unexpected moment: “When Simon thanked our guests for coming and managed to drop the microphone twice and knock his champagne glass off the podium. It was a good ice breaker–sort of.”
Best surprise: “Seeing all the wedding details and decor come together and our wedding cake at our reception.”
Fave wedding detail: The marshmallow snowman bride and groom cake topper.
What made his day: “Seeing all our friends and family in one room together. It was overwhelming to see everyone that means something to you in one room on your biggest day.”
Honeymoon: We left the following day for the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, where we spent a week sun tanning, snorkeling, exploring the island and relaxing in our honeymoon suite at the Sandals Regency LaToc.
The day in three words: Unforgettable, emotional and perfect.
