About the Couple
Bride: Julie Susanne Miller
Groom: Ryan Edward Letchford
Occupations: Julie is a social worker and Ryan is a sales representative for an outdoor gear manufacturer.
How they met: They caught each other’s eye when they were with friends. Three and a half years later, those same friends set them up.
Fave date: A tie between their first date, sushi and beer and love at first date, and their second date where Ryan was testing to see if he could date Julie long-term, so he took her for the ultimate test, a ski trip (in July) to Whistler! She passed the test, she was a great skier, and they had a great time.
What attracted him to her: Her smile.
What attracted her to him: His face brightens a room with his huge smile, and he has a great sense of adventure.
Engagement story: To keep it a surprise, Ryan proposed at sunrise—the morning after her birthday. They celebrated her birthday the night before with a romantic dinner followed up with a room at a posh hotel with a harbour view, champagne and strawberries followed by breakfast in bed.
