How they met: “We met online nine years ago,” says Natalie. “Rob sent me a random message on ICQ. We talked on the phone for a few weeks before I finally agreed to meet up.”
Engagement story: “Rob proposed to me on October 10, 2009. He was moving out of his condo, and two of Rob’s close friends and I were helping him move everything out,” remembers Natalie. “After packing up the last of the boxes, Rob and I went back up to make sure we hadn’t forgotten anything. In the centre of the living room there was a box that said ‘Nat’s stuff.’ I didn’t know what was in the box so Rob asked me to go check,” she says. “I opened it up and inside was a bunch of Styrofoam packing peanuts. I searched through the box to find two bottles of champagne. I was still completely clueless about what was happening, but Rob told me to continue looking in the box—that’s when I found the ring box. Rob walked over, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him,” Natalie says with a smile. “I was completely overjoyed and surprised! I had no idea that he was going to propose that day!”
