Movie: The Proposal (2009)
Plot: Margaret (Sandra Bullock) is a strong-willed editor, known for her rough and tough demeanour. But when her work Visa expires and she faces deportation back to Canada, Margaret forces her assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds) to agree to marry her so she can become a U.S. citizen. While they initially loathe each other, during a weekend in Andrew’s hometown of Sitka, Alaska, they come to care for one another, throwing their supposed agreement into disarray.
Why we love it: Betty White! She is hilariously cute as Andrew’s slightly insane 90-year old grandmother. We just wish we had a grandma who could sew a wedding gown like her.
