How they met: High school sweethearts.
Fave Date: Spending five weeks backpacking together throughout Europe.
What attracted her to him: How genuinely nice he is.
What attracted him to her: Her personality and energy.
Engagement story: Paul switched places with Lisa’s massage therapist and slipped the ring on her finger at Langdon Hall.
The Wedding Day
Wedding date: August 25, 2007
Guests: 225
Motif: Cherry blossoms with pink and brown.
Her best moment: Seeing everyone enjoy and appreciate all the little details we put together for the wedding.
His best moment: Seeing Lisa walk down the aisle.
Wedding song: All I Want Is You by U2. We love U2 and wanted something contemporary that meant a lot to us.
What they would do differently: Perhaps had our ceremony at a closer location and closer time.
Advice to others: Seize the wedding planning momentum and do as much as you can beforehand. No matter how much people will mock you for being ‘super-organized’ – it pays off during that last week.
Fave gift: Their wedding cake and groom’s snowboard hill cake. Best surprise: Listening to the song that the bridal party wrote and performed for us.
Fave wedding details: The food, 10 glorious courses of delicious Chinese food.
What made his day: Dancing and partying at the end of the night with Lisa and all our friends. As well – singing, I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys at the top of our lungs with all the groomsmen, hilarious!
Honeymoon: Mini-moon at Taboo in Muskoka. Followed by a big Hawaiian honeymoon in November.
