About the Couple
Bride: Shari Porter
Groom: Christopher Jackman
How they met: The two crossed paths while studying at Queen’s University. “Chris was in the cast of Queen’s Musical Theatre and their production of Bye Bye Birdie and I played piano in the orchestra,” Shari explains.
Engagement story: “My Mom and I were shopping in our favourite store, Pam Chorley’s Fashion Crimes, one innocent day in 2007. I kept eyeing a short pink tulle dress decorated with gold sequins and a brown bow. I decided to try it on, even though I had no occasion to wear it to. My mom gasped when I came out, and we both knew it was going to be my wedding dress (even though Chris and I were not yet engaged). Finding such an untraditional dress spawned a conversation between Chris and I about what weddings and marriage meant to both of us. Our talk culminated in us proposing to each other,” exclaims Shari.

What a delightful love story --- and how refreshing to see wedding pics that are natural and spontaneous, conveying the feeling and magic of the day without a sense of "posing" for the camera. Even the group shot reveals an ease and intimacy so often missing in wedding photography. I want that photographer for my wedding!
