About the Couple
Bride: Courtney Wrublowsky
Groom: Jamit Dhaliwal
How they met: “We first met at the store where I was working part-time while going to university,” Courtney explains. “We had an immediate connection and started chatting. We ended up running into each other the following week when my girlfriend was in labour and I was with her at the hospital. I had no idea Jamit was in med school until I ran into him in the hospital elevator! I ran back into the room while my poor friend was enduring a long labour and gushed about running into Jamit. Four years later the little baby that brought me to the hospital that day was one of our ring bearers at our wedding.”
Engagement story: “He proposed on the front deck of my grandparent’s cabin at West Hawk Lake—there was a huge lightning storm and we lost all power. As we were sitting there looking out over the lake he got down on one knee and pulled out my ring. He couldn’t have picked a more perfect moment and he chose to do it at my favourite place in the whole world. I love that the first time I saw my ring was in a flash of lightning. I got so excited that in classic Courtney style I knocked over my glass of wine—the deck is still stained to this day.”
